Justification of the magazine
In the magazine itself, I decided to go with a more modern approach. This is for two reasons, 1. Since its a a school magazine, the target audience is young adults. Hence why i decided to go with that. 2. The Thirsk logo colours stand out as they're bright, mixed with the modern theme of the magazine and a unique layout, the magazine would be difficult to miss. The Thirsk values are another feature I used because again this is a school magazine, and by adding the values that are expected of the students in school will again remind them what is expected whilst on the premises. Linking this back to font research, I used Arial Italics of the values as it fits in with the modern theme of the magazine compared to using fonts like typewriter, comic sans, etc. Arial as a font itself works well in this magazine as its large, so the magazine would be difficult to miss. The main headline I feel also works well with the whole vibe of the magazine, because it targets both the year 11's and the sixth formers. It gives an insight to what sixth form life is really about and somewhat promotes the sixth form to current year 11's that are looking into post-16 education. I also decided to add social links to the magazine, i did this instead of contact info because the magazine is aimed at the students, not the parents. And if the students wanted to know any upcoming events like dances, sport, etc. The social media pages are the best places to visit for that.
