Font Research

 Font research:

 

On the magazine itself, I used Arial Italics & Arial Bold. The reason for this is because I believe they are particularly eye catching and familiar compared to other fonts such as comic sans. Another reason is because the Arial font itself it’s particularly modern compared to a typical typewriter font you would see in a magazine or a newspaper like The Sun or The Daily Mail. The Arial italics in particular I liked because after using a bold font for a title it attracts the reader because the font is smaller, too small to glance at like a title but not too small to read. Hence why using a catchy title in bold is important so it gathers an audience. Furthermore, The reason why I didn’t use other fonts like Calligraphy, typewriter and block capitals is because I wanted a modern feel whilst keeping it professional. Calligraphy gives a more artistic vibe to the magazine & that was not the look I was going for. Typewriter fonts give an old impression to the magazine, which does not fit in with the style I’ve gone with.
